Recently, we had the pleasure of crafting a custom pendant in the shape of Barbados, a place that holds a special place in the heart of our customer. This stunning piece was made from yellow gold, with white gold accents to represent the beaches, and set with a vibrant amethyst to mark a significant location on the island.
Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the journey of this meaningful piece.
Step 1: Tracing the Island Shape
The creation process began with a carefully selected piece of gold, ready to be transformed into the outline of Barbados. We traced the island shape onto the gold with precision, ensuring an accurate and recognisable silhouette.
Step 2: Cutting Out the Design
With steady hands and expert craftsmanship, we meticulously cut out the island shape from the gold, refining the edges to capture every contour. This step is crucial in bringing the design to life.
Step 3: Adding the White Gold to Depict the Beaches
To enhance the beauty and significance of the pendant, we incorporated white gold detailing to represent the stunning sandy beaches of Barbados. This contrast between metals adds depth and character to the piece.
Step 4: The Finished Pendant – Complete with an Amethyst Accent
